The Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) has won the $100,000 prize of the ONE Africa Award, to celebrate African efforts at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event had presentations of the four finalists and a keynote speech by the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed.
The ONE Africa Award recognises Africa-driven and Africa-led advocacy efforts and exceptional work of organisations founded by Africans based in Africa in advancing development goals.
The CEO of PPDC, Mrs. Nkemdilim Ilo, said PPDC will utilise the funds to increase the impact with citizens and the government to bring about transparency in public governance.
The PPDC Communications Lead, Mbanan Mku, said the organisation also plans to improve the open contracting implementation process in Nigeria and other African countries.
