PPDC launches justice sector assessment report

The Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) on Monday convened Attorneys General and Chief Judges from all 36 states of Nigeria for the launch of the Justice Sector Assessment report.

With support from United States Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), the centre demonstrated the Court Administration and Case Management (CACM) project.

The event showcased findings from a comprehensive study conducted across 12 states, including the FCT, representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

Following a pre-parley meeting, PPDC’s Chief Executive Officer, Lucy James Abagi, led a delegation to the Apo High Court to demonstrate the Court Administration and Case Management (CACM) project.

She said that the Justice Sector Assessment provided a detailed analysis of the legal and institutional frameworks, operational performance, and systemic challenges within the selected states and the FCT.

“It critically evaluated the sector’s strengths, identified gaps, and outlined priorities for reform and intervention aimed at improving access to justice and enhancing efficiency.

“The CACM project showcased an innovative speech-to-text software developed by PPDC designed to accelerate the dispensation of justice by streamlining court proceedings.

“This landmark event reinforced PPDC’s commitment to advancing transparency, accountability, and reform in Nigeria’s justice sector,” Abagi said.
