The federal government has asked Nigerians to exercise patience on the power being supplied by the national grid in Abuja and its environs, saying the quality will improve shortly with its five ongoing projects.
Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, made the appeal on Friday while briefing journalists during the inspection of ongoing power projects in Abuja.

He said the project being executed by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and referred to as the ‘Abuja ring project’, is being funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), a donor organisation.
He said about 800 megawatts of electricity of transmission capacity will be added to the grid with the Dawaki, Apo, Kuje, Lugbe and Wumba substations and lines project ready for commissioning in December.
“These projects are about six combining lines and substations. They will increase the capacity of the TCN by over 1,000megawatts. They are far advanced in execution above 90 per cent in total completion by December,” the minister said.
