The new Managing Director of Jos Electricity Distribution PLC, Abdu Bello Muhammad, has declared that the company will not tolerate any act of corruption under his watch.
He also said the company would not close its eyes while customers engaged in meter tampering and bypassing, noting that such acts were a threat to the success of the organisation.
The new MD, who disclosed this yesterday during a press conference in Jos, said the system needed a total turnaround, adding, “I am here to implement corporate transformation that is direly needed in the company and that is exactly what I am going to do.”
He asserted that he would not tolerate a situation where staff would be masquerading as contractors, saying, “So many of our staff are contractors. How can you function as an operator and be a contractor in the same system?”
Consequently, Mohammed declared that his attention would be focused on reducing ATC & C losses via the instrumentality of performance tracking and evaluation, customers tariff reclassification to reflect the reality of energy consumption by customers; customer enumeration, energy accounting and audit through aggressive metering, quality power supply and quality service delivery amongst others.
The new chief executive office, however, urged staff of the company to redouble their efforts towards the optimization of their services.
