Poverty: Nigerians will give APC more chance – Party chieftain

The Director of information All Progressives Congress (APC), Bala Ibrahim has cited reasons Nigerians will give the party another chance in the 2023 general elections.

Ibrahim said no government had done so well in fighting poverty in the history of Nigeria like the APC-led administration.

Reacting to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)’ report on 133 millions Nigerians who are poor, Ibrahim in an interview on Channels TV, said the present administration had turned some Nigerians to millionaires.

He said, “I am happy the NBS didn’t say it is the APC that impoverished Nigerians. This poverty that has taken control of Nigeria is as a result of misrule of the PDP for 16 years. The APC since it came to power has been doing everything to uplift the standard of living.

“It is not something that can be done overnight, but if you are to take the statistics of number of people that have been taking to the next level, the number of people that have been pulled out of poverty, the number of people that are happy, particularly the number of people that have turned to millionaires in rice farming, you will see that no government has done so well in fighting poverty in the history of Nigeria like this administration.

“This is the government that has reached out to the people by way of talking where ever they are. I don’t think any government has done as much as the APC within this period of time, and having seen what the APC has done, I believe Nigerians will undoubtedly give it additional chance to do it because they will not want to go back through what has happened in the past.”
