According to her, the exclusion of Nigeria from being a mere observer at the last G20 meeting in London was an indication that Vision 2020 must move from rhetoric to action.
Amao spoke at the company’s Vision 2020 CEO Role Model Initiative Programme held in Lagos.
She said for Nigeria to record a significant success in the oil and gas industry, it must invest hugely in local human capital development, characterised by advanced technology.
She said truly Nigeria was blessed with abundant oil and gas resources, but with population of 140 million people, the nation’s primary resource was human capital and not oil and gas.
According to her, the development behoves the nation to acquaint the youths with skills and competence which translated into productivity and increased Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The programme, which paraded over 70 schools across Lagos State was aimed at sensitising the youth on the opportunities inherent in the oil and gas industry and how they could achieve their vision through emulating some role models in the society.
