Potiskum Specialist Hospital staff should sit up

People from different areas are sharing the same worry of having issues with the Potiskum Specialist Hospital workers for their nonchalant attitude towards patients.

It is vital for the government to intervene. The hospital, which serves people from Potiskum and its environs, receives numerous patients almost all the time. However, the patients are complaining about how some of the medical workers look down on them despite their training.

These cases keep rising as the medical workers of the hospital allegedly refuse to attend to the patients and maltreat them in a number of other ways.

Recently, there was a brouhaha in the town as many people complained that the staff of the hospital don’t want to attend to patients, especially pregnant women who attend antenatal clinic. This is the reason many people in the town resort to private hospitals even though their charges are high.

It is, therefore, pertinent for the relevant authorities to investigate this issue thoroughly.

There is a need for the Yobe State government and the management of the hospital to set up a committee to investigate the issue with a view to finding a lasting solution for the good of the people.
