A popular Akure-based socialite, Sunday Bayo, best known as ‘Sabayo’ among his peers has been murdered by yet-to-be-identified assailants in Ondo State.
Bayo, 43 years old, was killed in the early hours of Tuesday in Akure, the state capital.
Daily Trust gathered that the deceased had a few days ago been declared missing by colleagues, friends, and family members in Akure.
However, Bayo’s lifeless body was later found inside his vehicle in a pool of blood inside one of the popular residential estates in the Akure metropolis.

A video footage showing the remains of the deceased inside his vehicle was released on social media, generating angry reactions from friends.
A friend of the deceased, who pleaded anonymity due to an ongoing investigation over the murder, revealed that the case has been reported at the Ijapo Police Station to unmask the assailants behind the killing.
Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the murder case, adding that the security agencies have launched an investigation into the incident.
