Poor welfare: Police commission’s workers announces indefinite strike

Workers of the Police Service Commission (PSC) yesterday said it would go on an indefinite strike on Monday.

In a letter written by the Joint Union Congress, PSC chapter and addressed to the Commission’s chairman, Musiliu Smith, the union said all the conditions necessary for continuous working harmony had been breached by the management.

The letter was jointly signed by the chairman of Joint Union Congress, PSC chapter, Adoyi Adoyi; the chairman of Nigeria Civil Service Union, Abayomi Anthony; the Secretary of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Yusuf Nasidi and the Secretary of NCSU, Remi Ogundeji.

The letter read in part: “You may wish to recall that the Joint Union Congress of the Police Service Commission had embarked on a 3-day warning strike on Monday 24 January, 2022, which was suspended in national interest in order to embrace dialogue and reconciliation.”
