Polls: Kogi CP warns against protest

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police (CP), Yekini A. Ayoku, has commended the people of the state for conducting themselves peacefully during the just concluded general elections, even as he warned against any form of violent protest across the state. 

Ayoku, in a statement on Wednesday by the spokesman of the command, SP Williams O. Ayah, further urged the people of the state to go about their lawful businesses and to shun all forms of instigation or reactions that might arise from the declaration of the winners of the elections. 

He noted that anyone with any complaints should forward such through lawful channels to maintain a peaceful environment.

He cautioned that people should not take the law into their hands, saying the police were determined to work in synergy with other forces in the state to deal decisively with anyone who might want to disrupt the peace the state was enjoying.
