Politicians urged to heed CDS’ warning against violence

Politicians have been urged to heed the warning by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, against violence during the 2023 general elections.

Addressing reporters in Abuja yesterday, the convener of Unity Advocacy Group, Ifeanyi Aigbedion, asked politicians to play by the rules of the game.

Irabor had on Thursday warned politicians to shun violence in the forthcoming general elections.

Aigbedion said, “As we prepare for the general elections, politicians must play by the rule of the game. Election into political office must not be a do-or-die thing.

“Nigerian is already going through challenging times, the election should not be an opportunity to deepen the security challenges.
