The new President of District 9125 of Rotary Club of Kano, Opeyemi Emmanuel Akinfaderin, has renewed plans to strengthen the fight against polio eradication and other health challenges in Kano.
The 62nd district president of the club, who gave the commitment at the weekend during his investiture ceremony at the African House in Government House, declared that the battle against polio would never resonate in Kano.

He said the district’s humanitarian activities would focus on education, health, women empowerment and social services.
The new president, who disclosed an estimated bill of over N6 million for the execution of projects, said there were plans to distribute instructional materials to schools, drilling of boreholes, distribution of delivery kits and construction of laboratory centres.
Also speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, who is a prestige AKS member of the Rotary Club, disclosed the readiness of the government to sponsor an agricultural project intervention under Rotary project to empower residents.
The Chairman of the investiture, who is also the Chief Operating Officer of Silvex International Limited, Alh Abubakar Garba Ibrahim, who donated N1 million support for the 2020/2021 humanitarian projects, urged well-meaning individuals to equally join hands with Rotary Cub to make the society a better place to live.
