A policeman has gunned down a trailer driver, Aondohumba Terkula, on Anyiin Road in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Witnesses said the policeman, Sgt. James Aondona, pulled the trigger on Sunday after an argument ensued between him and the deceased driver over an alleged illegal fee.

They said the trailer driver was on his way to Katsina-Ala LGA when the policeman accosted him at a roadblock and demanded N3,000.
The deceased driver was said to have, however, offered the police sergeant N1,500 instead on account that his vehicle was conveying only half loaded.
Our correspondent reports that the killing of the driver sparked off a protest by his colleagues who blocked the road for several hours and causing hardship for motorists.
Spokeswoman of the police in the state, SP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the killing, said they have arrested the policeman and commenced investigation into the matter.
He said the corpse had been deposited at the General Hospital, Kastina-Ala.
