Hundeyin said the Commissioner of Police (CP), Idowu Owohunwa, set up a task force in response to reports of incessant extortion of motorists by thugs and recalcitrant law enforcement officers.

He said 18 of them were arrested last week Friday and Saturday in the Mile 2 area.

He further said, “CP Owohunwa has warned that any law enforcement personnel, irrespective of agency, found complicit in extortion would be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the law.”
