The Edo State Police Commissioner, Johnson Kokumo, has warned that officers and men of the force will no longer fold their hands and allow criminals to kill them at will.
Kokumo said this on Monday during the inauguration of 70 vigilante group in Ikopaba-Okha local government of the State.

According to him, police should use their arms professionally if their lives are in danger or defending others whose lives are being threatened, adding “we will have justification to use our arms.”
He said, “we will keep talking to our officers not to police with bitterness. But never again will it happen for someone carrying jack-knife to kill a policeman carrying AK-47.
“The police will no longer fold their hands and die like chicken. I want everyone to take the message home to neighbours and their children.
He said it is the responsibility of the police to sanitize the state, noting that the Inspector General of Police has gone ahead with confidence building of the police after the #EndSARS.
Speaking further, he disclosed that the police have made good number of arrest in connection with “all manner of crimes in the state.
Kokumo said operatives of the force will be on 24 hours joint patrol with other security agencies in the local government.
On his part, Ikpoba-Okha council Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande said the vigilante will compliment the existing security architecture in the area.
