Police warn residents against scooping fuel from overturned truck

Edo State police commissioner, Funsho Adegboye, issued a stern warning to residents against the dangerous practice of scooping fuel from a truck that recently overturned while transporting 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

The accident involving a Mack truck labelled “Petrol Con Oil’’ occurred on the Benin-Agbor Road near Ukhuaihe hills. According to the statement by SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, the incident happened approximately 200 metres after Okhuaihe River.

Reports indicate that the truck driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to ascend the hills, causing it to roll backward and overturn.
