Operatives of the Rubochi Divisional Police Headquarters in Kuje Area Council of the FCT and vigilantes have rescued a tipper driver, identified simply as Musa, and three labourers from kidnappers.
A vigilante, who was part of the operation but preferred anonymity, said the incident happened on Wednesday around 10am after the victims left Abaji town to load timber in a forest in Dnago village.
He said the victims were loading timber into the tipper when gunmen came and rounded them up.
He explained that, “The kidnappers were moving with the victims when vigilantes, upon receiving information, alerted the police who joined them to engage in a gun battle and rescued the tipper driver and the three labourers.”
