Police to impound vehicles with concealed plate numbers

The Niger State Police Command said it will soon commence clampdown on owners of vehicles with concealed plate numbers as a measure to check kidnapping and other criminal activities. 

The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mohammad Abubakar, who disclosed this in Minna, said officers and men of the command had been given the mandate to impound such vehicles and arrest the owners.

He said members of the public and top government officials were flouting existing traffic law by covering plate numbers, but that all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) had been directed to move against offenders.
