Police in Kubwa have dragged a middle-aged man before an Abuja Grade 1 Area Court for allegedly inflicting injury on the head of one Aminu Lawal without provocation in Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Azeez Ibrahim of Phase 3, Kubwa, was charged with causing grievous hurt, an offence that contradicts section 246 of the Penal Code.
The police prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun told the court that the complainant, of Phase 2, Site 1, on September 10, reported at the Kubwa police station of how the accused, on same date, acted in a violent manner without provocation.
He said Ibrahim used a broken bottle to stab and inflict severe injury on the complainant’s head.
When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty. The judge, Mohammed Marafa, deferred the bail terms to enable him get a doctor’s report on the injured person.
