The Jigawa State Police Command, in collaboration with the State of Security Service (SSS), acted on a tip off and raided a pharmaceutical store, Shawai Medical Plus, around the Mopol Base, Sabuwar Takur, in Dutse and arrested a fake medical doctor.
In a statement on Wednesday, the command’s spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, said, “The fake medical doctor was arrested on July 4, 2023, at about 1700 hours.”
He explained that during the raid, one David Samuel who claimed to be a medical doctor attached to Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital, Dutse, was apprehended.
The statement further reads, “On investigation at the SCID, Dutse, the fake doctor had rendered medical consultancy service, prescription of medicine and home service to his victims.”

He added that the suspect was arrested with many documents which include a degree certificate from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, an NYSC certificate, a membership card of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), etc.
He further said that when interrogated, the suspect confessed that he forged all the documents found in his possession, pointing out that he was a dropout from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
