It was gathered that police had to use tear gas to disperse hundreds of irate youth who trooped to the area command when the rumour of the impounded vehicle filtered into town, demanding that the bus be released to them to be set ablaze.
It took the intervention of some elders of the area to calm the youth who were pressing harder for their demand.
Following the intervention of the elders, the content of the vehicle was off-loaded and turned out to be empty INEC envelopes. Sources close to the police revealed that some arrests were made and the vehicle was moved to police state headquarters in Minna.
Police spokesman, ASP Ibrahim Gambari, confirmed the incident, saying investigation was in progress.
