Retired Police Officer of Nigeria (REPON) zone one chapter, Kano, yesterday said they were not asking for increment of pension, but removal from the contributory pension scheme.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Kano State and signed by REPON secretary ASP Sa’idu Garba (rtd), the group said “the advertorial placed by PENCON on Daily Trust of 27/11/2017 on page 53 is set to mislead the public in believing that the retirees have finally agreed to monthly increment being proposed to them.

“What we want is total removal. We do not have any business with monthly increment and we will not settle for that. We are appealing to all authorities concerned to wade in and save us from this problem”.

It would be recalled that the group earlier gave instructions to all its members under the contributory pension scheme to ignore the baseline survey forms currently in circulation, stating that it was a plot to halt the National Assembly proceedings on the police pension bill.
