Delta State Police Command has rescued three kidnapped victims and recovered one locally -made- gun from the suspected kidnappers in a Delta community.
The information was contained in a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe on the Saturday, 31st December, 2022, at about 0120 hours.
According to the statement, “The police operatives attached to Orerokpe Division who were on visibility patrol duty along Warri/Sapele Road by Okuvo and Egborede communities, sighted some persons being dragged into the bush.
“The operatives suspected that they (victims) may have been kidnapped and therefore trailed the suspected kidnappers into the bush.

“When the hoodlums realised the police were closing in on them, they opened fire on the team, which the police quickly responded.
“When the hoodlums could not withstand the firepower of the police, they abandoned the victims and escaped.
“The victims (names withheld) who are aged 40yrs, 54yrs and 49yrs respectively, were rescued unhurt and have been reunited with their families while efforts are on to arrest the fleeing members of the gang.”
