Police rescue kidnapped victim in coma

A police special squad code-named Operation Zenda has rescued one kidnapped victim in coma at Tine-nune community of Zakibiam town in Ukum LGA of Benue State.

Commander of Operation Zenda, SP Felix Nomiyugh, made the disclosure on Tuesday in Makurdi when he played host to members of correspondents’ chapel under the Benúe State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Nomiyugh said the incident happened on Sunday after his men stationed around the affected area got a distress call and responded swiftly.

“We rescued the victim as he was being taken into the bush. Because of quick intervention, the abductors abandoned their victim. He was however in coma when we rescued him.

 “We took the victim to the General Hospital in Zakibiam and he was revived,” he explained.
