Police rescue kidnapped Catholic Nun in Benue

The Police in Benue State have rescued a Catholic Nun from her abductors in Ichama forest in Okpokwu Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer of Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, stated that the incident happened at about 11 pm on Friday.

Anene explained that the police got information that armed men overpowered the civilian security man at the gate of the convent in Ichama village and adopted a Reverend Sister.

“The police on routine patrol in the area responded quickly and chased the hoodlums into a nearby forest where they abandoned the victim and took to their heels.

“The victim, who was tensed by the incident, is currently responding to treatment at Okpoga.

“Detectives are on the trail of the suspects,” the PPRO added.
