Eight persons said to have been kidnapped along Zaria-Kaduna expressway aboard a luxurious bus on February 29, 2021 enroute Delta State have been rescued.
They are Bala Ibrahim, Ede Gloria (Ebonyi State), Japheth Sani (Kebbi), Kingsley Egbue (Delta), Anthony Okafor (Anambra), Gabriel Agu (Anambra), Chibuzo Nwokorie (Anambra), and Ifeanyi Samuel (Enugu).

The police public relations officer, Muhammad Jalige, who confirmed the development, said the victims were rescued by men of Operation Puff Adder II attached to Kaduna Command while on routine patrol along Galidamawa/Kidandan area of Giwa Local Government Area (LGA).
According to him, “On March 29, 2021 at about 0600hrs, men of Operation Puff Adder II attached to Kaduna Command while on routine patrol along Galidamawa/Kidandan area of Giwa LGA intercepted a group of armed bandits alongside some victims in their possession.
“On sighting the operatives, they took to their heels abandoning their victims and one AK49 rifle. In the process, eight victims were rescued unhurt including a female. The victims later stated that they were abducted.”
Jalige said the victims who are currently receiving medical attention would be reunited with their respective families.
He said the command was pursuing the fleeing bandits.
