The Police in Benue State has rescued four victims from kidnappers in the Obi Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Catherine Anene, said the victims were abducted on September 23 while travelling.

Anene said, “Following a report of four persons kidnapped on 23/09/2022 along Ijegwu-Opirikwu road, Odiapa council ward of Obi Local Government Area, a team of police officers in collaboration with other security agents were deployed for a rescue operation. On 25/09/2022 about 2230hrs, after serious pressure mounted on the kidnappers, they abandoned the victims and escaped to a nearby forest.”
She added that the victims have been reunited with their families.
The PPRO maintained that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass has deployed more tactical teams to the area to checkmate activities of hoodlums as he advised that members of the community should volunteer useful information to the police on operation within the area.
