The Edo State Police Command has rescued three kidnap victims in Akoko-Edo LGA of the state.
It was gathered that the three rescued victims were among the six people kidnapped by gunmen on August 1, and three of the victims were rescued on August 2 while three others remained in the captivity of the kidnappers.

The victims, it was learnt, were kidnapped along the Ibillo/Ikiran-Ore Expressway in Akoko-Edo LGA of the state.
The state command’s spokesman, SP Chidi Nwanbuzor, said the victims were rescued in collaboration with the military and vigilante group.
He said the police, on August 1, received a report that six passengers were kidnapped and they mobilised the security team into the bush and were able to rescue three of the victims on August 2 and reunited them with their families.
He said the search team continued combing the bush, which yielded results, as the three remaining victims, Babatunde Saheed, 45, Benedicta Olorioke, 19, and Ola Ogedegba, 47, were also rescued unhurt on August 5.
He said the victims have since been reunited with their families.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, while commending the team for the successful rescue of the victims, reassured that the command under his watch will sustain measures and strategies to clamp down on the perpetrators of crimes in the state.
He called on the public to continue to work in synergy with the police in the fight against crime and criminality.
