Police in Kwara have rescued three farmworkers abducted by gunmen in Pampo, Asa local government area of the state.
The three abductees – Julius Owoeye, a veterinarian, Akeem Ajadi and Bola Adedoye, all workers of Bafford/Morola’s farms at Elega in Pampo community of Asa local government area – were rescued around 11:30 pm by operatives attached to the command.

It was gathered that the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Lawal Bagega supervised the rescue operation.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi said the three have been taken to a private hospital after the police medical team inspected them.
He said efforts are still ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects who left their victims following the police onslaught.
The rescued victims were kidnapped by gunmen who dressed in army uniforms driving in a Hilux vehicle amidst sporadic shootings at the facility.
The owner of one of the farms, Sanmi Omapariola, had told newsmen that their abductees had contacted them demanding N45 million in ransom.
