The Delta State Police Command said it recovered a black Toyota Corolla car No. SKL 330 AE and one Beretta Pistol loaded with live ammunition from a suspected gang leader of a kidnapping syndicate.
City & Crime reports that the spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe, who made this known to newsmen gave the name of the suspect as Philip Onoghosa.
Edafe said the suspect and his gang had been terrorising the Sapele-Warri road.
He said the operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) trailed the suspect in Sapele town.
He added that the suspect, who was at Amukpe roundabout buying illicit drugs along with a woman, on sighting the operatives, took to his heels abandoning the vehicle.
He said the command has launched a manhunt to arrest the fleeing suspect.
