The police in Ekiti State have recovered four Berretta pistols, 40 rounds of 9mm ammunition and other items from seven suspects arrested for various crimes in the state.
The commissioner of police, Mr Moronkeji Adesina, represented by the command’s spokesman, ASP Sunday Abutu, while parading the suspects, said one Aliyu Mohammed was arrested while suspected kidnappers were operating on Ikole-Isu Road on March 4, after a distress call to the command.

ASP Abutu said, “During interrogation the suspect confessed to be a gun runner who had earlier supplied a Berretta pistol to one Fatai Danjuma and Ademilua Ayodele Hammed at the cost of N250,000 in March.”
Abutu also said a case of murder was reported in which one Akomolafe Tolulope Patience, a 100-level student in a university, was attacked and killed by suspected cultists in November, 2019.
