Police re-arrest 3 fleeing inmates of Owerri custodial centre

Gunmen had attacked the facility adjacent to the headquarters of the state police command and freed over 2800 inmates.

Imo State Police Command has re-arrested three inmates who escaped from the Owerri custodial centre on April 5.

Gunmen had attacked the facility adjacent to the headquarters of the state police command and freed over 2800 inmates.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bala Elkana, in a statement, said that the trio – Cosmas Mbamara of Ohakpu area, Mgbidi, Oru West,  Okafor George Chisomo of Ezeachi area, Orlu Local Government Area and one Nwankwo Levi of Okigwe area- were arrested at various points by the surveillance unit of the command.
