Operatives of the Ogun Police Command led by the Imala DPO, CSP Nurudeen Baba Hamzat, have raided a criminal hideout along the Ayetoro Obada Road in Abeokuta North LGA of Ogun State, arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered arms.
The command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said the suspect, Akeem Ismail, of Oke-Oba, was flagged down on a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number: OGB 592 UP, while he was trying to escape into a forest.
Odutola said, “He was searched and a new locally made pistol was found on him which he confessed belonged to him. He claimed he bought it in Ilara town. The police have commenced investigation into his confession as it is believed from his responses that there are other gang members.”
Also, she said that the one Sunday Dosunmu (53), a prison returnee, was arrested while trying to use fabricated keys to unlock cars in the Leme area of Abeokuta.

She disclosed that the “unrepentant car snatcher”, along with his gang members, was on September 17, 2022, apprehended by the DPO of Kemta, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, while trying to steal a car from a park, adding that two fabricated keys were found in his possession.
