Some suspected kidnappers terrorizing Bwari and Kwali axis of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been arrested by men of the FCT police command.
Commissioner of police in the territory CP Sunday Babaji, who disclosed this while addressing newsmen at the command’s headquarters over the weekend, said his men busted a notorious kidnapping gang, recovered four AK47 rifles and 150 rounds of live ammunition and 15 empty magazines.

He said the arrest was carried out by police operatives from the Dawaki division acting on a tip-off.
He also said one Danjuma Mohammed was arrested in possession of two AK47 rifles and 60 rounds of live ammunition while on transit.
He said consequent upon the arrest of the suspect, a police investigation led to the arrest of one Yahaya Musa and Shagari Ahmadu, who he said were members of the same syndicate.
According to him, the syndicate specialised in kidnapping people in the Bwari/Kwali axis of the FCT.
He said during a clearance operation launched at the syndicates’ camp by the police from Bwari division, two rifles and 90 rounds of live ammunition were abandoned by the suspects who escaped from the camp.
“In another clearance operation by our men from the command’s Anti-Violence Crime Section at a camp suspected to be that of kidnappers along Kwaita-Kwali axis of the Abuja-Lokoja highway, 1,600 live ammunition and 15 empty magazines were also recovered,” he said.
CP Babaji said the suspects would be arraigned in court.
