Police authorities in Kano have q1uestioned a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s factional gubernatorial aspirant, Malam Salihu Sagir Takai over brutal murder of 70-yr-old man.
Confirming the incident to Daily Trust, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Magaji Musa Majia said Takai had honoured the invitation of the Police Commissioner, CP Rabi’u Yusuf.
He said, “Takai reported to the State Intellegence Bureau (SIB) unit of the command around 9am before he was later escorted to the criminal Investigation Department (CID).”
The gubernatorial aspirant was invited by the Police for questioning over three offenses allegedly committed by his supporters.
The offenses are unlawful assembly, mischief and culpable homicide.
Daily Trust gathered that Takai remained with the police up to 4pm, but it was learnt that he would be granted bail on self recognition.
Daily Trust reports that Takai was invited by the police following a murder of a 70-yr-old man by his supporters.
He was hacked with an axe in the head, resulting to his death.
Majia added that police had identified some of the suspected killers and would soon arrest them.
