The Kano State Police Command has commenced investigations of the suspended chairman of state’s Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado.
It was gathered that the police invited the embattled anti-graft boss to the command’s headquarters, where he was said to be answering questions on the alleged forgery of the medical report his lawyers tendered on his behalf before the state house of assembly.

It was further gathered that the police are currently investigating two petitions against Rimingado, one of which was on the alleged forgery reportedly written by the state assembly while the second was said to have been written by the office of the state’s Accountant General.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Haruna Abdullahi Kiyawa confirmed this to Daily Trust.
He noted that the state assembly and the office of the state’s Accountant General filed the petitions against Rimingado on July 22 and Rimingado was invited on Monday and has since appeared before the investigators.
He said the allegations against Rimingado was that of presenting false information and forgery.
The police spokesman later confirmed to Daily Trust that the case is being treated like any other criminal complaint.
Similarly, Kano State House of Assembly has recommended the immediate sack and arrest of the suspended PCACC chairman.
This followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the House ad hoc committee, which recommended his sack.
The panel’s chairman, Umar Musa Gama, while presenting the report said the ad hoc committee arrived at five recommendations after investigation. He said part of the recommendations included immediate sack of the suspended chairman, his arrest and prosecution, as well as setting up an ad hoc committee to probe PCACC’s financial activities from the year 2015 to date.
Speaking to journalists shortly after plenary, Majority Leader of the House, Labaran Abdul Madari, said the joint committee set up to investigate Rimin Gado found out that the medical report submitted by the suspended chairman’s lawyer was fake.
Rimin Gado was suspended for alleged misconduct a few days after reports surfaced that the anti-corruption commission was investigating some capital projects in the state said to be linked to some members of the first family.
He was later replaced with Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe, the state’s Director of Public Prosecution, as acting chairman of the commission.
