Police Natives seek state status for Abuja N33.3m cheque to families of late officers in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has presented a cheque of N33,275,840 million to families of officers that died in the line of duty.

City & Crime reports that the Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, presented the cheque at the weekend in Asaba on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman.

The commissioner said the money was part of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme to officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

A beneficiary who spoke on behalf of the others, appreciated the Inspector General of Police for the gesture and assured that the money would be spent judiciously.
