The CP stressed that the achievements were possible due to the synergy between the police command and other security agencies in the state and the willingness of members of the public to volunteer useful information to the police.

Armed robbers who posed as government task force members were paraded with the locally made pistol used in the operation.

Others were five thieves who stole 444 mattresses meant for victims of flood disaster.

One of the suspects, Lazarus Josiah, narrated how he strangled his mother to death on suspicion of witchcraft.

Similarly, Christopher Chiabata, 56, narrated how he attempted to commit suicide, when he killed his wife with a pestle over a minor quarrel.
