Police parade robbery suspects, others in Bauchi

The police in Bauchi state have arrested and paraded suspected criminals.

The suspects were paraded by ‎the state command’s spokesperson, DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar, on Thursday, adding that they were arrested by the police at various times and locations‎ within the state.

According to ‎him, the command arrested six members of a suspected robbery syndicate in Bauchi metropolis.

The suspects arrested are Aliyu Yusuf, Adamu Mohammed, Bilal Aliyu, Isma’ila Haruna, Mansir Mu’azu and Adamu Mohammed.

Datti also disclosed that the suspects allegedly ‎invaded the residences of Abdullahi Garba and Okafor Bright at Federal Low-Cost and carted away valuables.

He said that one Haojue Motorcycle, two Tecno Handsets, three Plasma Television, two HP Laptops, one Microwave Oven and six other differe‎nt mobile phones were recovered from the suspects.

Five other suspects: Sa’idu Ibrahim, Babangida Adamu, Hassan Umar, Mohammed Adamu and Umaru Dankawu were also arrested for robbing Muhammadu Gidado and Alhaji Muhammadu Sani, residents of Ganma and Chakwati villages respectively in Shira local government area.

They allegedly ‎robbed the first victim of N60,000 and collected N4,575.

A locally made Pistol and N4,575 cash were‎ recovered from the suspects according to the Police spokesperson.

Similarly, Shamsuddeen Umar and his accomplice, Ibrahim Mohammed were also arrested for attempting to rob a commercial motorcyclist, Ibrahim Ali and stabbed him while conveying them as passengers.

“The passengers brought out a knife and stabbed him on his chest and shoulder and attempted to snatch his Boxer motorcycle. The cyclist shouted and one of the suspects, Shamsuddeen Umar was arrested and he confessed to the crime during interrogation,” DSP Abubakar stated.

The police spokesperson ‎further informed that, Abdulkarim Musa and Abdullahi Saleh were also arrested after they stole a white Toyota Corolla with registration number BAU 241 HB belonging to Baba Sadiq valued at N2 million.

The stolen vehicle, the police informed was recovered in Jos, Plateau State alongside a black Honda Civic with registration number, BAU 556 EKY.

Other suspects paraded were arrested for culpable homicide and other crimes.
