He emphasised the command’s determination to reduce crime, adding that cultists were a major challenge to the security situation in the state.

He said the police had launched a coordinated operation with hunters on March 16, 2024, in Sambisa Forest, Adamawa State, where they arrested 40 cultists and recovered weapons from them.

CP Morris also noted that the police had intercepted and arrested five armed robbery gangs within Jimeta, who had robbed passengers and occupants of their vehicles from Taraba State and fled to Adamawa State.

He further said an armed gang of kidnappers was arrested at Ngurore on March 5, 2024, who had been terrorising the area and its environs.

“The police recovered two AK-47 rifles and 25 rounds of live ammunition from the suspects,” he added.
