Parading the suspects before newsmen Saturday, the command Police Public Relation Officer PPRO, Mr. Andrew Enwerem said that the command equally arrested a notorious gang that specializes in ‘one chance’.
He said that the gang arrested through a tip off, used tactics to lure people claiming they are from Togo and have consignments to deliver.
“They are out only to defraud innocent citizens’ people of the hard earned money,” the PPRO said.
He added that one Bright Okoduwa who was arrested following a tip off also specializes in adulteration of assorted drinks ranging from Guiness Stout, Legend among others.
The PPRO said that Okoduwa after adulteration of the drinks would sell them it to the public for consumption.
When interviewed, Okoduwa confessed that he engaged in the act in order to survive, adding that he has been in the business for three
months after he left the person he was working for in Port Harcourt.
He said that he buys his crates of bottles with which he use to make his own drink from Lagos at the rate of N500,00.
Another suspect, Tina Okoreke equally confessed that herself and three others were arrested at Mechanic village as 419 people working with an Indian in Owerri.
Two suspected car snatchers Chima Hilary and Frank Obina from Abia state said they snatched a car from someone and on their way back they were arrested by the police.
