A police officer, Auta Aruwa, who is being accused of killing a 300 level students of University of Jos, Ringji Peter Bala is expected to open his defence on October 19 and 20.
The officer was arraigned before the Plateau State High Court for shooting dead the student while in the custody of the security.

The 20-year-old student was on May 13 last year, arrested along with five others, by security operatives along the National Library area for breaching the lockdown directives and were whisked to sector one of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) security post where they were allegedly punished.
Justice David Mang, presiding over the matter yesterday adjourned to the Oct 19 1nd 20 for the opening of defence.
The prosecutor, Barr. Garba Pwul, has earlier told the court that he has closed his case after the testimony of his last witness, Inspector Martha Bwodang.
