Police nab suspected motorcycle thieves in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has arrested five suspects for allegedly stealing motorcycles in Ikirun, Iragbiji and Osogbo, the state capital.

The suspects were James-Oke Oladele, Hamsat Jamiu, Abayomi Atanda, Akanji Samuel and Kazeem Onaopepo.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Wale Olokode, paraded the suspects at the police headquarters in Osogbo.

He said one of the suspects attacked a motorcyclist and snatched his motorcycle along the Ilesa garage area in Osogbo.

The CP said the arrest of the first suspect led to the arrest of other suspects at Ikirun and Iragbiji respectively.

The suspects confessed that they snatched several motorcycles at different locations and sold them.

The CP said two Bajaj motorcycles were recovered from the suspects, adding that efforts were ongoing to recover more stolen motorcycles from the suspects.

Olokode said investigation is on to arrest other suspects who are at large.
