Police nab suspected cultist, recover pistol in Bayelsa

The police in Bayelsa State have arrested one Raymond Odozi, a suspected cultist said to have been terrorizing Yenagoa, the state capital and its environs. He was found in  possession of a locally made pistol and live cartridge.

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Asinim Butswat, in a statement yesterday, said the suspect was arrested at Gwegwe street on Tuesday, November 13, following a tip-off by community youths.

“The suspect is undergoing interogation and will soon be charged to court.” the statement read.

He urged members of the public to continue to partner with the Police by providing useful information to ensure a safer Bayelsa State.

A 100 level undergraduate student, Seiyefa Fred, was killed last week by unknown cultists in an attempt to snatch her mobile phone in Amarata axis of Yenagoa, the state capital.
