The FCT Police Command has said that its operatives have arrested a suspect, Ibrahim Suleiman, in connection with a recent failed bank robbery in Abaji Area Council.

Benneth Igweh, the FCT police commissioner, who disclosed this to newsmen at the weekend, said a Peugeot saloon with registration number: KAB 480 AA, and seven master keys were recovered from the suspect.

He said operatives, acting on actionable intelligence, stormed Gegu town in Koton-Karfe LGA of Kogi State and arrested the suspect.

Recall that security soldiers, vigilantes and policemen foiled an attack on the Abaji branch of First Bank on June 13, 2024, during which a police inspector, identified simply as Habila, was killed by the robbers.

Three among the robbers were reportedly shot dead during the exchange of fire with the security operatives and one of the corpses of the robbers set ablaze by a mob.
