Police nab robber in Bayelsa

The police in Bayelsa State have arrested a suspect, Keme Azorobor, who had been on their wanted list for various robbery cases in Yenagoa and environs.

Police spokesman in the state, SP Asinim Butswat, in a statement on Monday, said Azorobor was arrested during a clearance operation on Otiotio Road in Yenagoa.

According to him, the suspect has confessed to the level of his involvement in various robbery cases being investigated against him and his cohorts who are now at large.

He said, “The suspect, one Keme Azorobor, 27 years, a native of Bomadi LGA of Delta State, but residing in Yenagoa, was arrested during a clearance operation on Otiotio Road, Yenagoa, on July 24, 2022, at about 2345hrs.

“The suspect was searched and a locally made pistol loaded with one live cartridge was recovered from him.

“Investigation is ongoing to arrest his gang members and bring them to book.”
