Operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested a member of a notorious cult group in Bayelsa, identified as Justice Egbo, at Otuasega community, Ogbia local government area of the state.

A statement by the Police Spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, on Tuesday., said the suspect, a 20-year-old had already confessed to be a member of the dreaded ‘Bobos’ cult group that has been disturbing the peace of various communities in the state.

During the constitution of the squad, the police authorities also disclosed that they had arrested 32 suspects in association with violence and attacks in the state.

Butswat in the statement said the arrest of the cult kingpin followed a tip-off by members of the community.

He said operatives and members of the vigilante of the community, upon receiving intelligence, swung into action which led to the arrest of Egbo and a locally made pistol recovered from him.

He said, “The suspect, one Justice Egbo ‘m’ 20 years, a notorious member of the dreaded Bobos cult group was arrested on 17 August 2021 at about 0700hours at Otuasega. He has confessed to being a member of Bobos cult group and he is assisting the Police with vital information on other suspected members.
