Police nab man in Zamfara for stealing car in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old Badawi Abdullahi Ahmed  in Talata Mafara in Zamfara State, with a car stolen in Abuja.

A statement by the command spokesman, ASP Daniel Y Ndiparya, said the suspect is a notorious car snatcher, who specialises in stealing cars from where they are parked.

He said the suspect stole the blue Toyota Corolla with registration number FKJ 625 DV at Aguiyi Ironsi Street Maitama, Abuja, on Tuesday, 24th August, 2021.

He said it was upon receipt of the information that the police detectives from Maitama division swung into action and trailed the suspect to Talata Mafara, Zamfara State, where the suspect was arrested in possession of the stolen car.

He said exhibits recovered from the suspect were the blue Toyota Corolla, two keys suspected to be master keys and a bag containing mechanical tools.

He said the suspect would be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation, even as he said the command appealed to residents of the FCT to remain security conscious.

He also said the FCT commissioner of police, Babaji Sunday, implores residents to fortify their vehicles with additional security measures.
