Men of the FCT Police Command have arrested a man, Nnamdi Agu, for allegedly faking his own kidnap in order to defraud his family.
In a statement, the command’s spokeswoman, SP Adeh Josephine, said the suspect who resided in River Park Estate, Lugbe, along Airport Road, Abuja, attempted to defraud his brother who resided in the estate.
She explained that the arrest followed rumours on Saturday that a man was abducted in River Park Estate, and that the police were deployed to the scene and discovered that the kidnap was a fake one.
