Police nab couple over robbery in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has succeeded in the arrest of a couple, Abdullahi Ibrahim (25) and Khadija Ali (20), who disguised as Christians and tricked their victims by claiming to convert to Islam and robbed them of valuables.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Dungus Abdulkareem, who confirmed this on Thursday to Daily Trust, said the couple approached the Gudi Emirate Council in Fika LGA, saying that they were from Plateau State and intended to convert to Islam and presented themselves as Jude Emmanuel, a Berom man from Farar Kasa in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, and his wife as Peace Sunday and that they were subsequently accepted and converted to Islam and placed in the custody of the chief imam for teaching and proper guidance.

He explained that a day later, the man informed the imam that he was having bad dreams and needed debris from a thunder strike spot to collect ash and prepare medicine for his ailment.
